First off, Blink 182 is NOT alternative. The Smashing Pumpkins are considered alternative rock/grunge. Some more current bands are Mew...Metric.....Jenny Lewis is more indie. With Mew try "special", with Metric...idk "Dead Disco" or "Grow Up and Blow Away" and Jenny Lewis.."Melt Your Heart"

Do you know how broad "alternative" is? It spans from Radiohead to Nirvana and everywhere in between, be more specific.
