I remember watching this movie when I was 10 years old on TMC (the movie channel). It aired around 1990, and the only scene I remember was when this eerie looking magician (kinda looked like Mr.McFeely the mailman from Mr.Roger's neighborhood) tried to do the magician trick of sawing a person in half...instead he actually cut this person into 2. This movie scared me....anybody know the title or know of any Bmovies with a killer magician?

...sounds not unlike that of one of master goremeister Herchell Gordon Lewis' early '70's films, entitled 'The Wizard of Gore', released in 1970.

In the film, a magician performs gruesome and bloody illusions on stage, using a sort of hypnosis to convince the audience that the carnage before them is real; when the victims of his illusions are revealed to actually be safe and sound, the audience revels in shocking relief, at the tricks played upon them. However, when the illusion victims go home, or out on the town, they are mysteriously slaughtered in much the same fashion as the graphic illusions they volunteered for.

Point of extreme interest: eclectic character actor Crispen Glover stars as the crazed magician, in the upcoming release of the remake of 'Wizard of Gore'!!!

...think this might be the one???

..stay tuned!!!

you want something intense with all the right ingredients so it would have to be legendary, legend,( no make believe, not totally heavy) so that would be Constantine with Keanu Reeves and Rachael Weiss, The Sin Eater with Heath Ledger and Shannon Mosimon. Both films are based on good fact not fiction they have the best ingredients for good scary movies(fright nights) IE. Constantine is derived from the Corinthian bible, the ongoing fight(slam battle) between good and evil whilst mortal men are merely just establishing(frittering) themselves away on earth,or are they?any way its all about romance in the end its as scary as hell in some parts, Keanu could save you any day night second, minute or hour.the Sin Eater is more about cardinal mystery(untouched)the evolving forms of power and passion(romance) they are both really worthy exorcism movies , Emily rose is ancient really evil stuff (two headed, chained to the bed I am having a vomit day at everyones expense?!!) I promise you I will never watch that movie!it has not been researched or well enough made to hold any true value for today to make it worth while watching always judge and value what to watch, induced nightmares or boredom will never be entertaining, .the new Will Smith is disturbia but no romance at all,and the ending is a badly timed windup.Natch 28 days (later?!!)is really null and void.when it isnt gore, its like watching paste dry (pass the Hitchcock) Go archiving for fun. The Lost Boys(Kieffer Sutherland)is a really good recommendation until the film studios make more its best to search ,request ,explore............ and make sure to enjoy!

Maybe Carnival of the Damned has a scene like that. I love B-movies, but i can't keep them straight for the life of me.

Not sure of the one you are referring to. How about this one from 1919: "The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari" I seem to ember that it came out about the time you referred to as a re-release and restored edition. Here is a website.
