I have a bunny that I've had for about a year. She is boxed trained, so she is free to roam around the house. But she is super jumpy, and won't let us pet her very often. We got her when she was 2 years old and she lived in a cage all the time.

Then we have another bunny, we got her about 6 months ago. This one is super social and very friendly.

So I'm wondering if anyone has any tips or suggestions to get my first bunny to stop being such a wierdo.

Having lived in cage for the first two years of your bunny's life has probably helped her be very timid. Even though she is box trained, she is still nervous having humans handle her. It takes patiences to calm down a nervous animal.

Try lying on the floor with some of her favorite food right beside you. Don't touch her if she tries to eat any of it. After about three weeks slowly move your hand a bit closer to her. Just a bit until your had will lie right beside her. Then after awhile while she is eating see if she will let you gently stroke her.

Younger animals are easier to tame that's why your six month old is so friendly.

www.rabbit.org is a good site to understand rabbit behavior...sounds like you just have to get over some trust issues and just by having it around the house and being close to it but not forcing interaction and letting it come up to you is a start. definately check out the website.
