my husband and i had sex last night and had to stop because i started having really bad pelvic pain. like cramps only worse. i have not had this problem with him before. i have been having light cramps almost every day for a few months, but have attributed it to my body just getting back to normal after giving birth. my daughter is 5 months old now. does this sound like a bad problem or just something not to worry about?

Well, you might have a cyst, or who knows what. Our bodies are so complicated. That is why we have our own specialist. You need to look in the Yellow Pages and find a doctor that specializes in pelvic pain, or do some research online about different sources of pelvic pain. I had chronic pelvic pain for years, and ended up having surgery and then a year of physical therapy. I'm 100 percent better now, but what I learned it don't ignore it, and don't take "it's normal" for an answer.

Good luck!

It's been 5 1/2 months for me & I still experience that occasionally. Not as bad as you've described except for once. I did some reading up on this & one cause may be the fact that your organs & your uterus have moved/changed & so depending on position & all that other good stuff you may get a cramp like pain or you may just feel like you've gotten a really painful jab to your insides. In the one article I read it said that one of the best ways you can help to end this is by doing your kegels [which I still need to do] & other exercises to help strengthen your core/abs. That will help to tighten your muscles & help not just your outsides but your insides to get back to the way they were. Until then if sex isn't too uncomfortable in general try finding some different positions that make you comfortable & another plus your husband probably won't mind helping what finds you comfortable either. lol...

All you have to do is have sex every night this way your muscle will recuperate and will give you better strength in your pelvic. If that doesn't work just get on top instead of the bottom because my girlfriend's doctor says that 6 out of 10 women that have pelvic pains are caused by sex.

I gave birth 3 months ago and I dont experience any pain. The best advice would be to consult your ob/gyn. Good Luck :) & happy mother's day.
