I mean, I am a true and loyal Cubs fan (Go North Side!!) but should I drop them because, everyone knows they arn't the greatest or should I stay loyal? They are 15 and 14 this year!!!
Look Out World Series!!!!!!

Loyalty is the most important thing.I have been and Indians fan my entire life(since 89),through the hard years(89-93),through the glory days(94-01)through hard times agian(02-04)and into the rencarnation of contention agian(05- now).I am glad to see you stick to the Cubs as I'm sure you and I know it's painful watching you team come so close to winning it all(Indians 95 and 97(Mesa>:I)and 03 for your Cubs).Combined we have had 158 years without a world series victory.

Loyalty is what makes you a true fan. Otherwise you're just a bandwagon fan. I've been a Red Sox fan my whole life and could never even consider rooting for anyone else. If you're a true and loyal Cubs fan, then you shouldn't be asking this question.

A "true fan" would never "dump" their team. I'm a loyal blue and red man too and cannot conceive rooting for any other team. Many true fans will get downhearted and stop paying as much attention when their team isn't doing well, but a total "dump" is nothing a true fan would think about doing.

If you root for the greatest your a frontrunner, and people hate frontrunners, no can say your a frontrunner like they cant say I am one (as a red sox fan), because your a cubs fan and have been through tough times. Stay loyal, you will lose respect "dumping" teams.

A true fan will always remain loyal to his team. Dumping a team for whatever reason is the mark of a fair weather fan.

A true fan is loyal to their team even in the tough years, and as a Cubs fan, you should know what I mean quite well when I say "tough years" :)

this question cuts to the heart of what a true fan should be. fan~ short for 'fanatical'.
you don't have any reason to dump on your team. sure they are one of the least successful (on the field) franchises in baseball history. even non-baseball fans know of the ineptitude of the fuzzy cubbies. sure they play in a relic of a stadium. sure they can point to ernie banks, ryne sandberg, andre dawson, and mike ditka singing 'take me out to the ballgame' as high points in franchise history. harry caray... never mind.
but depite many of the misgivings you have, know that when they DO win, you'll have the satisfaction of knowing you stood by them through all of those frustrating seasons. there's nothing more irritating than a bandwagon fan.
stay true! the 'smarts' of 'dumping' belong to george steinbrenner and those with deeper pockets than you have.
ps: when the alternative is to root for the white sox, stay with the cubs.

A true and loyal fan wouldn't even have to ask this question. You're not that loyal if you're asking when you should drop them and become a fan of a different team. I would kill for my team to be 15-14 right now.
GO ROYALS!!!

Aww, loyalty to your team. Just think of how much sweeter it'll be if you've stuck around through thick and thin and they FINALLY win! Everyone has a soft spot in their baseball hearts for the Cubs and their fans. You guys are a class of your own. :)
