You really need to cut out the human food for them. It's unhealty and gives them an even greater risk of salmonilla which raises your risk too. To get them to eat the pelets, don't give them anything else. If they have a choice, they choose the treats. It's like asking a child if they want candy or steak. Of course they will choose the candy. Eliminate the treats and the human food and they will eat the pelets which are healthy for them.

1. Chicken liver is not terrible, but not great. Try some other live foods such as shrimp, worms, crickets, snails, etc. along with some pellets. Babies generally like bloodworms and frozen/thawed krill.
2. 5 days is not a big deal. it often takes a week for the turtle to settle in and stop being so stressed out.
3. Being told you have a good tank does not tell us anything important. Small, dirty, cold tanks are terrible for turtles- but a lot of people think they are OK. Aim for 20+ gallons, heated to 75-80F, well-filtered.

i dont know if a raw chicken liver is good for turtles maybe they adapted to only eat chicken liver because you only feed them with it...just force them to eat pellets.put pellets in the aquarium then leave them alone they are still adjusting to their new environment play with them when they are a little bit older or more bigger....good luck
P.S. make sure youre tank is big this creatures can reach up to 12 inches full size...and dont put that finger near their mouth they usually bite i was bitten when i was playing with my RES...

Baby sliders are mainly carniverous. If you want them to eat something else you can try different meats (feeder fish). One way to get them to try something else is when you put their chicken in the tank put the vegies or pellets in with it, so that they associate pellets or vegies with food. It worked for my baby sliders. They are just picky. The little guys need more meat and usually only eat vegetables as they get older. Its ok, just keep trying. Good luck!

Ask at who gave you the turtles what they were eating if wild caught give live small food. Your turtles are still getting use to thier new home try not to disturb them much and don't handle them for a little bit the stress can make them not eat. try feeding them prekilled or stunned feeder guppies. When I was a kid we had one that only ate dried shrimp and it was healthy. Enjoy them!

the only treat I give my 2 RES is bloodworms and red and green lettuce, this way they don't get too spoiled. A great website to learn what to and what not feed them is
