there are HUNDREDS. alot of household plants work well in water, i find the best to be bamboo it looks good easy to plant and acts as a natural filter, also javva moss, moss balls, dwaf hair grass, the list goes on and on, antother favorite of mine are hight humidity vines.

It really depends on a few factors, but Java Moss and Java fern are usually good starter plants that do well in a wide variety of situations. Some floating plants like Riccia, water lettuce or duckweed are also great starter plants.

Elodea gives a lot of oxigen, it doesnt need heat and usually carry water snail that are good for the tank.
Amazon sword plants are very pretty and give oxigen.
Vallisneria is a delicate but cool plant.
