When he signed (each time) with the Astros, it was rather expected. His returning to Noo Yawk was more surprising.

And... look, the Yankees, being the Yankees, make headlines even by NOT doing something. Consider, if Rocket had signed with Houston again, the NY papers would have led with "Yankees Fail To Land Clemens." ESPN would show reactions from outraged, disgusted Yankees fans, not joyous Astros fans. You know this to be true.

You can't honestly say you don't find it outrageous that he will make about a million dollars a start. And he didn't sign up for a team he signed up because hes the kind of sports jerk that gives all athletes a bad name. He should at least have to show up like everyone else. Last I checked Roger Clemens is not God, so the dumb yankees and ESPN, etc. need to stop treating him like it. Oh and according to ESPN, by the way, he makes more starting in June and not actually being a part of this team then the Tampa Bay roster makes all year.

Because ESPN is east coast Yankee/Red Sox bias. Notice how at least 80% of the games that show have a East Coast team playing? That's why they are totally blowing the signing out of proportion. If he were to sign with the Astros again, it wouldn't of been as big of a deal.

Clemens in Houston is just a baseball deal. The Yankee,s buying him because there front office screwed up again is a different story. You have to consider that the Yankee,s and really all NY teams have ESPN helping them recruit players. They like to pretend that its balanced, but come on when they spend 30 minutes on the losing Yankee,s ans 2 minutes on winning teams like Milwaukee and Cleveland, its not hard to see the bias.

Uh, agree, yanks make news. The Boss wants to win, plus the whole media East Coast bias. He could have signed with the Cardinals and it wouldn't have been much bigger than the Houston signing. Not to mention he tops A-Rod's overall 25 million with his 28 million for the year. 4-1/2 a month, dang, let me just look at a picture of all that dough.
