1)
i^6 = i^4 * i^2 = (1)(-1) = -1

2)
7x - 2 = x + 5 OR 7x - 2 = -(x + 5)
6x = 7 OR 8x = -3
x = 7/6 OR x = -3/8

3)
2x^2 + x - 3 + 4/(x+3)

5)
x^3 + 3x^2 y + 3xy^2 + y^3

6)
16x^2 + 96x + 4y^2 - 8y = -84
16(x^2 + 6x) + 4(y^2 - 2y) = -84
16(x^2 + 6x + 9) + 4(y^2 - 2y + 1) = -84 + 16(9) + 4
16(x + 3)^2 + 4(y - 1)^2 = 64
(x+3)^2 / 1 + (y-1)^2 / 4 = 4

7)
3! = 3*2*1 = 6

8)
1 + 100 = 101
2 + 99 = 101
3 + 98 = 101
.....
49 + 51 = 101
That's 49 pairs of 101, plus 50 which didn't have a pair.

So... 49(101) + 50 = 4999

9) I assume you meant:
(4x + 3)/(x - 1) - (4x - 3)/(x+1) = 10/(x^2 - 1)
Factor the denominator on the right of the = sign
(4x + 3)/(x - 1) - (4x - 3)/(x+1) = 10/(x-1)(x+1)
Multiply everything by (x-1)(x+1)
(x+1)(4x+3) - (x-1)(4x-3) = 10
4x^2 + 7x + 3 - (4x^2 -7x + 3) = 10
14x = 10
x = 5/7

10)
h = -16t^2 + 20t
plug in t = 1
h = -16 + 20 = 4 feet

First of all, hon, if you have this many problems understanding your homework, talk to your teacher. I will get you started on some.

1) i^2 = -1
i^6 = (i^2)(i^2)(i^2)

2) -(7x - 2) = x + 5 or (7x - 2) = x + 5
-7x + 2 = x + 5 or 7x - 2 = x + 5

4) Exponential are logarithmic functions are inverse functions. The exponential function is an inverse of the logarithmic.

6) Get the y terms on one side, the x terms on the other side, and divide everything by 4, since it's a common factor.

7) Any of the three may speak first. The second speaker will be either of the other two. The third speaker can only be the one that's left.

8) sum =
1 + 100 +
2 + 99 +
3 + 98 +
.....
49 + 52 +
50 + 51
= 50(101)

10. t = 1
h = 16(t^2) + 20(t)
h = 16(1^2) + 20(1)

For increasing cubic binomials the final formulation is as follows: (a + b) ^ 3 = a^3 + 3*a^2*b^a million + 3*a^a million*b^2 + b^3 on your case, a is x and b is -y^5 So (x - y^5)^3 = x^3 + 3*x^2*(-y^5)^a million + 3*x^a million*(-y^5)^2 + (-y^5)^3 Simplified: =x^3 - 3x^2*y^5 + 3x*y^10 - y^15 :D
