Democratic politicians alike govern themselves on the Bible. Unfortunately, the majority of Americans are Christians, and they'll only vote for someone who is Christian. As you can see from several of these responses, they would NEVER vote for an atheist or agnostic president. No matter what he or she believed, you could have a murderous gun-towtin' baby-killer running against them and say "God Bless America!" while holding the Bible, and guess who would win?

The Bible might not be a fictional novel, but it IS a fictional BOOK.

Nothing in the bible can be disproved. One day you will wish God's word was fiction, like maybe when you're burning in Hell. Worry more about the way you govern yourself.

Isn't it great that you live in a nation where you can enjoy free speech? It's just too bad that your limited intellect must assuage itself by insulting people who do not share your beliefs.

Also, your question shows a real lack of knowledge. Don't quit school. The Bible is a collection of documents. Even an idiot knows it's not a novel.

Plain and simple. VOTES. If you claim the bible and quote from it, retarded people will vote for you solely based on your religious beliefs.

Do you really believe Bush is a Christian? I've never heard him mention Jesus.

One of the reasons we are a great country is the Bible. Without it we would not be the America you know. We would be mother Russia. That is a country who does not believe in a God.
