Here's a great site, it gives you foods and how much you should feed them in a nifty chart...

http://www.aracnet.com/~seagull/Guineas/VitaminC.shtml

Guinea Pigs cannot produce their own Vitamin C so oranges are probably the most inmportant fruits to give them...They should get a few pieces of and orange a day if you don't put supplements in their water...

Hope this helps...GOOD LUCK!!!!

Potato Peels are not good for them!

Their body needs vitamin C because it doesn't produce it (that's also why guinea pigs will eat their poop).

My guinea pig Charlie LOVES Kale (some people say it's an iffy vegetable to give them but nothing bad has happened and she's almost three now).

For a good list of veggies you should/shouldn't give them. Check out this side for a list of veggies they can have: http://cavymadness.com/carefood.php#veggies

Don't put anything in their water such as vitamin C. It will deter them from drinking. Instead, give them 25 mg chewable Vitamin C. I give GNC 100 mg, cut into 4 pieces, and give one.

Lots of oranges may cause sores on their lips. Give a wedge every other day or so.

Do not give your pig potato peels. It is bad for them. Give your pig kale, romaine, few sprigs of parsley (high in calcium as is spinach but a few times a week won't hurt), chicory, green, red or yellow bell peppers, cucumbers, carrots, cherry tomatoes, chopped celery, cilantro, curly or red leaf lettuce, etc. There are many fruits also you may give.

I used to give my guinea pigs a combo of brocolli, parsley, spinach and for a touch of color a couple of carrots on top. They loved it.
