Only if the part removed is exactly half of your entire colon. If they only cut one quarter you have a three quarters-colon, it will still work all right, but you can' t put it in your writings to separate sentences because it' s grammatically incorrect.

This may be hard to digest, but, if you punctuate your inner tubes you'll have to face these tools and regas the whole works unless you comma cross that intern, Al, who could help loosen the valves to regulate with a post rophe'age cleansing.
