Why do you as a person that thumbs down all the answers to a question feel the need to do it?

i'm not having a go each to their own and that....I'm just intrigued as to whether it is because you can no longer thumb down the question so you do all the answers instead to state your opinion

I know- I loathe it- it's like a thumbs down possy. It's become very noticable recently. When they do that - I read the answers and give most of them a thumbs up to counteract it. I think it is directed at the questioner mostly, as you can only star the question now, not give it a thumbs down.

I think thumbs down should be abolished!! It's a stupid idea and negative, much better to use words to express yourself or be positive and be able to a give thumbs up and star only.

I had 19 thumbs down for saying that i didn't give a f*ck about the thumbs up/down system. I nearly p*ssed myself. Why is everyone so serious?

I have no idea why they would want to thumb down every ones answer, maybe they can't think of anything to say so do that instead, very sad and very strange.

I don't know i have done it a few times when in a mad mood but most times what is the point, we all on here for the same reason .

i don`t give thumbs down unless its inappropriate ie: kids may see an unnacceptable answer or remark .

Because they are not witty enough to post their own question expressing their 'disgust' at your answer
