scorer because he has to score to back his team up or his team will miss most of the dishes he give them, he tried multiple times to make his teammates better but it seemed like they didn't care.

When the Lakers win he's a scorer and when they lose he's a ball hog. It can go either way with Kobe. I think he's getting some what better at getting his teammates involved and if you remember the championships the Lakers won with Shaq & Kobe he wasn't accused of being much of a ball hog back then. I think he has turned into a ball hog because of the caliber of players on the Lakers. If he could count on them to score he wouldn't have to hog the ball. At this point it seems as if he tries to carry the team and it's unfortunate.

Ball Hogger, everyone keeps saying that he has no team and such, but tell me a 7 foot guy that can dribble shoot and take it down low is nothing (lamar odom) even shaq agreed, he said that kobe tried to take over the team and that's why he left and that he had no problem with D wade takin over but kobe couldn't. Also Smush Parker is a great pg he has agility speed and he's got body control with a strong upper body. So why is it that the ball is always in Kobe's hands, Anyone can score 81 if they take enough shots...and kobe took enough shots bottom line.

kobe bryant is a ball hog. even though he is a shooting guard, he shoots like 3 times as much as a regular SG. This is the reason lakers lost to the Suns. You win games by passing and assisting. Kobe averages like 2 or 3 assists per game. Compare kobe with arenas. kobe shoots all the time while arenas shoots and passes. This is why the two teams almost had the same record. Lakers have many good players but washington has only arenas and butler. assisting wins the game.

Kobe is a Scorer... you can't deny him that.
But he is also a BallHOG and thats his problem. He needs to elevate is game to the point where his team is more involved.
I agree with RONS MKAY's repsonse. "GREAT" players make their teams better. Kobe may be a very good player but unitl he makes those around him better he will remain just that a Very Good Player.

Kobe has to score to win because he has little support from his team mates. he did try to be the be the set up guy but his team mates suck...Also they were on a 7 game losing streak when phil jackson approached kobe in the locker room and told him to score as many as possible, thats when he went on a rampage scoring and still shot over 50% from the field..

Scorer
Kobe has to be a scorer for his team to win. We've see what happens when he passes the ball a lot. Lakers lose big time. Lamar Odom is too inconsistant, and Luke Walton was not playing anywhere near the level he was playing at before his injury. Other than those two people, who else does he have to pass to. Their next best shooter was SMUSH PARKER...
This being said, Kobe did what he had to do for his team to win, and that was score points. Kobe may be considered a ball hog, but its because he HAS TO BE.
