Liberals and modern day conservative are both collectivists against personal liberty. I am an old school classical liberal which makes me a 1980s conservative, but not a neocon. I go to Church sometimes. To understand what I believe click below

Issue: Freedom
Religious Services: extremely rare (I am an agnostic)
Liberal/Conservative: Classical Liberal (some would say Libertarian). I tend to vote for Democrats because social freedoms are more important to me than economic freedoms (I'd rather pay for a welfare state than let the government tell me what I can and cannot say or believe in).

I consider my self moderately liberal, however some would call me conservative, others liberal, these terms have a wide range of definitions - I consider myself conservative when dealing with the environment (which means I am for conservation of wild and public lands rather than exploitation), liberal on social issues such as tolerance of diversity, and against violence and violent posturing (I don't know if this is liberal or conservative!), and I believe government is neccessary to protect the environment, the poor, and to check destruction which is caused by unbridled capitalism (I guess this is considered liberal)
