I administer chemotheraputic agents. This drug company seems to have some pretty good chemotheraputic agents and I think I should invest in their stock, but never did it before. Can I just buy some on the internet?

Sure. Open up an online brokerage account (like Etrade.com). You can buy right from the account. The sticker symbol is AMGN.

You don't say how much money you want to invest.

If you don't have a lot (like most of us), you might consider ShareBuilder.com. They are very small-investor friendly.

You can invest small amounts. Under the Basic Plan, buys have a $4 commission and sells are $16. You can invest any or all of the first four Tuesdays of each month. Your total investment amount will be invested in the stock of your choice. This means that your purchase will include fractional shares. (I started out at $50 per month. My first purchase of Harley Davidson got me 1/3 of a share.)

Dividend reinvestment is free. IRA plans are also offered. Do check them out.

Here is the web address.
