I think it's the way the question is phrased, no one could have called you sexist if you had asked 'Which types of Novels do men read?'
The pedantics of semantics eh.
Anyway whilst I read mainly popular science, I also love Tom Sharpe novels coz they actually make me laugh out loud, once on a packed train too, when I read 'Riotous Assembly'.
In general though, you won't find many men reading Mills & Boon, and I'd say these days, novels for men are in direct competition with lads mags like Nuts etc
My mates are all blokes and they read too, agatha christie, dan brown & even terry pratchett.
none of us are nerds either.

Well i defo aren't nerdy, and i aren't callin u sexist either but yes men read. I enjoy anything by Stephen King, James Herbert and i have the full Necroscope series by Brian Lumley. I also enjoy Tony Parsons who has a fantastic sense of humour and an excellent grasp on the realities of family life and friendships. Man and boy, and Man and wife are defo his best and i highly recommend them. P.S. it's only the insecure men who are havin a go so just ignore em!!! Try those books out they r brilliant

Well I'm just about the most opposite end of the " nerdy" spectrum that you 'll find. Big Biker guy. I love to read my favs are Koontz,King, Patterson, Sandford, Iris Johanson, & Gasp!! Even some Nora Roberts. But you are right most guys would rather "putter " around with something or other.

Well, it was a bit of a daft question. It's not like the only people on earth who read novels are female. Men probably wrote more than half of them. But yeah, I guess people probably over reacted a massive bit by calling you sexist.

There isn't anything wrong with what you said and if I had never had a son I would've said no, but my son reads them. Don't worry about it. You know how people can be on Monday's. Oh well now you make me feel bad for answering you! LOL My son is NOT A NERD! LOL LOL He is just smart and enjoys a good book occasionally. Nothing wrong with that. Doesn't make ya a nerd. LOL I know you didn't mean that! Right??? LOL

I love reading :) Novels, autobiographies I didn't answer the 1st question, because all I ahd to say was just what I've said and didn't think it was very interesting for a seemingly valid question
