Its a 2002, I just changed the battery in it. When I cranked it up, my radio said "LoC" still. It was on before I changed the battery, so I figured it was because the battery was drained. Now its still on. Can somebody tell me why??

Paul H- If I get ahold of the dealer is there a way that I could use the code? The car is from GA, about 200 miles away from my house in SC. Can anyone with the right equipment program the code?

The radio is the "Pontiac Monsoon" system.

Your radio has an anti-theft feature that locks the radio if power is disconnected like when someone steals it...then, the only way to make it work is to enter a special security code that was preset when you bought the car. If you didn't do this when you bought the car, go back to the original selling dealer and they should have the code in their records or they can get the code by using a special procedure if you show proper ownership of the car. This happens a lot on cars with this type of radio where the battery goes dead and you have this problem. If you need to disconnect the battery in the future, make sure you have this code on hand to reset the radio....some tech's even run 12 volt bypass wires from a jump box to the battery cables or cigarette lighter when doing a replacement to avoid this problem or computer reset problems.
Good luck, Paul

I say to go back to the original selling dealer because they might have the code written in their records but any local Pontiac dealer can get the code for you....you may get lucky with this--we use to program the code using the last 4 numbers of the VIN code if the customer did not specify a number..just a suggestion you may want to try and also, look in your owners manual--they may have written it in there for you. The code is just 4 numbers that have to be entered in a certain procedure and you get three tries to do it right or it locks up for an hour. Paul

This is a theftlock feature, so that if your radio is stolen, it can't be used or sold by someone else. This will happen anytime the radios power supply is removed.
For a GM product, Turn on your ignition to Acc. Press and hold the 2 and the 4 buttons on your radio until it unlocks. I'm not quite sure what style radio you have, but if that doesn't work, try 1 and 3. If neither of them work, check to see if the created code is written in your owners manual.
Hope this helps you!

I do not get how Firebirds and Camaro's are distinct while they've the equal engine, chassis, suspension, transmission and different mechanical elements. But I might say Camaro considering it's nice watching and has a miles bigger most sensible pace than the Mustang.

i once had the same problem and i called the local GM dealership and was told to enter a series of generic numbers in case it was still using the factory code and it worked , but i don't remember if it was 1.2.3..... 1.1.1. or what, but if you have the owners manual it will tell you , if not call a GM dealer they will tell you what numbers to use, good luck
