The point with Sudoku is it supposedly enhances your logical thinking skills. So you're definitely exercising your brain, but probably wouldn't notice unless you're constantly trying to work out logical problems.

Word searches are OK, but they don't really exercise the brain much. Sudoku is much better. There is also a game called word round up at www.usatoday that is like a word search, but it is much better for exercising the brain.

word searches and sudoku both exercise the brain. Some people are better at logic than others and do better at sudoku, while others are better at thinking and do better at word searches. I think if you can do both sucessfully, you are a better well rounded and more intelligent person.

The trick is, its not about numbers. Its about logic. By process of elimination, and recognising patterns, the answers are evident. It requires a systematic approach, and PATIENCE! I read somewhere that it keeps the brain ticking over in middle / late years. Stick with it. Start on the simplest while you pick up the basics. All round good harmless fun, and sharpens your noodle!

I personally think it is better than word searches and requires more mental cognition.

Haha, I don't know if you'd even be able to tell. But I most definitely cant because I can never finish one of those damn puzzles! I don't know why they are so addicting.
