Try a mask:
Milk of Magnesia - apply in thin layer where needed & allow to dry 5-10 mins. Will absorb oil & tighten pores.
Origins Charcoal Mask or Beauty w/o Cruelty Clay Mask - both work well. Beauty w/o Cruelty is a better bargain.
Plain yogurt makes a good, soothing mask. You can add some ground oatmeal for a little extra exfoliation and honey for a little moisture.
Or you can crush up 6 plain, uncoated aspirin tablets and mix it w/ a little water to make mask.
Or use one of these variations to make a cleanser or mask:
Mixture: 6 crushed aspirins, mixed with the liquid facial cleanser at hand (I usually use either cetaphil or tersaseptic), and 1-2 drops of tea tree oil.
Mix half a teaspoon of crushed tablets with Queen Helene Mint Julep mask and aloe vera gel.
Hold 6 aspirin in palm, and slowly dripp water onto them until they fizzle and dissolve! Once dissolved, add 2-3 drops of honey into it and mix it around with finger. Apply to face. Keep it on 15-20 mins.
Mix 6 aspirin tablets with a little aloe to make a mask.
Use about 6 uncoated tablets, witch hazel, tee trea oil, and aloe to make a thin paste.
Use a toner. Witch hazel w/o alcohol or little alcohol or
for toner:
8 ounce bottle of distilled water add four uncoated aspirin
or
mix of 1/2 water, 1/2 witch hazel, 15 aspirin, and 2 drops of tea tree essential oil and 2 drops of rosemary essential oil
Also, use blotting sheets mid-day instead of washing your face or powdering your face.
Wash w/ warm or tepid water.

I'm where you are, lol... I have very active, oily skin. I can tell you what helped me, but it might not help you:
1) Don't use facial scrubs! These will irritate the skin and cause it to produce more oil. Instead, use a purifying mask (I use Shiseido's) about once a week--one of the reasons why oily skin develops acne is because it doesn't exfoliate as well, but over-exfoliating will have the opposite effect. A washcloth does just as well for exfoliation on a daily basis, and it's cheaper.
2) Unless you have very resilient skin, use cleansers that are formulated for sensitive skin and avoid astringents--these can be so drying that they actually trigger more oil production.
3) Find a good, oil-free, NON-COMEDOGENIC moisturizer. The non-comedogenic is important; this means it doesn't clog up pores. If you can find a mattifying moisturizer as well, that would be even better.
4) Some higher-end skincare companies have a product that you can apply throughout the day to 'mattify' your skin and absorb oil without worrying about makeup. I know Shiseido makes one, but I don't know what it's called. Also, avoid over-applying powder; it can start to look cakey, clog pores and trigger even more oil production. If you find the right skincare products, you can use any powder; shoot for it staying 'fresh' for around 3 hours.
Good luck, and hope this helps!

You should only try washing your face 1 or 2 times a day, washing it too much causes your face to produce more oil. Make sure you're using a cleanin system made for oily skin. I love the Body shop's Tea tree line. I use their cleanser, toner and moisturizer everyday, and use a clay mask twice a week.
I use Bare Minerals products and love them. They keep me matte all day. I put a bit of the mineral veil on, then foundation, then more mineral veil. You didn't mention if you only used powder, but if you use powder on top of a foundation that foundation may be bad for you, especially if it;s a cream or liquid.
Look into oil blotting sheets that don't mess up your make up. I like the ones from Clean & Clear, the Body Shop makes them too.

Oily skin happens especially if you live in a hot, humid climate. I used to have really oily skin too, but I tried a couple of things that keep the oil away now. First, if you wear your hair in your face a lot, that could be contributing to the problem. Try an exfoliating product... I like the Biore micro scrub, as well as Ambi. Another good brand is the Clean and Clear Deep Action Cleansing cream. I think it works really well. If those don't work they sell pads that you can put in your purse and pat away the oil during the day... good luck!!

First, keep your hands off your face ... touching skin encourages the spread of bacteria and excess oils, leading to breakouts. Second, excessive cleansing and scrubbing can make it worse! So you should wash your face only twice each day (AM & PM) using a mild cleanser and tepid water. You can try Arbonne's Clear Advantage acne system which will help balance your skin while clearing acne. Also remember, any time you change products, your skin may have a slight reaction for the first week or two while it adjusts. And any acne system may take a few weeks before you see real results, so don't give up on it too soon. Stick with it, be consistent in following directions, and give it a chance. Nothing will get better overnight. You can check out Arbonne's products at:

i have combo. skin
and i HATE OILY SKIN
which is what i have too
i use oil blotting tissues that you can get from clean and clear
and i think your skin is getting all these pimples and getting even more oily because you're washing your face too much, try washing it only two times a day, at night and in the morning, and be sure to use astringents with no alcohol, because alcohol drys out your face causing it to produce more oil. try using make up that says shine free or non-oil or something like that... they don't work wonders, but they do help
i hope i helped some! good luck!

I have the same problem. I have found that using witch hazel (you can get it at dollar general stores cheap and walmart too I believe) or rubbing lemon juice on your face (using the lemon itself works). Witch hazel is usually found with the rubbing alcohol and peroxide. I use witch hazel after washing my face....it does not smell the best but it helps me control my oily skin and the smell goes away after a few minutes. Make sure you also use a good facial cleanser. I use Aveeno. Oil of Olay and Neutrogena works also depending on your skin type. When using makeup, make sure it is oil free. Otherwise you are only adding to the problem. I also use baby powder instead of compacts or any type of makeup duster. That depends again on your skin type. Baby powder helps some but not others, but I would say atleast give it a shot. I use that dual foundation that has the foundation and lasting lotion in it. I think it is by Maybeline.

Mac is not the products to use as they are studio makeup which means in order for it to give the most flawless cover it has to be really thick ,cakey and it most likely blocks your pores(even the powder has some amounts of oil...For most, the solution to oily skin is to strip it off, using alcohol or other harsh products. This is the worst thing you can do to your skin. The oil is there to protect. When it is stripped away you are actually causing your body to produce more oil (in the case of usig the toner or astringent so often).First, you are washing your face way too often .. you mention that you powder your face...also a negative..if you keeping adding powder to oily skin you end up looking grey and flaky because the powder is going to sit right on top of your skin soaked in oil and when you keep adding powder you end up looking cakey (thus the need to reapply every 15 mins )..i recommend using bosia blotting tissues instead they soak up the oil immediately without giving you a powdered look and feel.....i have very oily and acne prone skin with spots and people swear that i have great skin ..what i do is let my skin breathe....i wash my face at at night with a salicylic acid foam and use an oil free gel based moisturizer before going to bed.In the morning i splash water on my face about 3 times to get circulation going i pat dry and add SPF 15 cream ...i get my breakfast (so i can let it sink in for 10 mins ) and apply concealer only to the spots and the setting powder i apply is dermablend orginal setting powder....using a powder puff i put the powder on and let sit for 5 mins before gently brushing it off to ensure that it sticks to the concealer to keep it fresh all day (and it does)...............other tips are:
-drink lots of water ...i know people say this alot but its true i saw a difference in my skin in 1 week
-ALWAYS wash your hands before you wash your face so as not to spread bacteria
-use fragrance free products
-try saving $120 and aboutevery 3 months or so invest in getting extractions and peels ...they do work(if you want you can invest in smoothbeam ...its a technique that uses lasers to permanently shrink your pores so it produces less sebum(oil) so you have less oily skin and less breakouts.you might need about 2 or three treatments every six months or so and it can be expensive .....
- when changing products stop using your current product for about a week so to give your skin time to btreathe
AS FOR POWDERS i recommend clinique or biotherm .....
if you have anymore question or want me to show you pics let know.............i hope i was helpful

well, it could be related to stress? i think what is better is maybe leave your skin alone for one day, then the next morning wash it with cetaphil (may be spelt wrong) i buy it at my publix, just use it morning and night, it gets all the oils out. i also love using the neutrogena (also prob. spelt wrong) cleanser. the oil wash astringent one, but remember, things will get worse before they get better!

try using oil absorbing sheets if you havent already, but if there is nothing else you can do you can get a haircut to where your bangs cover your forehead because that is where oily skin is most noticable.
