like in old coins why right in the center big holes?what do they stand for/represent? thankXX U verrY mucHH!!

Another thing, purses and change purses are a more recent invention. You could string your money all together and it made it easier to carry.

Most old coins were made of silver, gold, copper, etc..

By putting a hole in the middle, the coin could still be minted but it required less metal. (you could make more coins for less money)

So you can thread a string through it, making it easier to carry.

not sure, but i know in chineese money the hole was to easier hold their money.
