Thank god for that--When I first read it I thought you said your mother wouldn't start!!!! .
your problem might be the choke when it 1st starts --if a push bulb or lever then give it a few pushes/flicks then try to start the mower but try not to give it too much

Make sure the gas and oil are full. Make sure the spark plug wire is on tight. Make sure the line that opens the choke is working. Then, if no problem found, pull the spark plug. They should be changed once or twice a year. If the plug is dirty, or fouled, it won't start the mower.

You should try changing the spark plug and air filter and changing the oil. Those are all pretty easy to do , just look in your manual or online for a guide to doing those things. They are not hard at all and may be the problem.

If there is a 3/4 inch button on the side, that is the primer, push it 3 or four times, it should start right up. If no good, take it to a local small engine repair shop, they will have you up and running for less than $50

Make sure there is gas in the tank. Take the spark plug out. Spray starter fluid in the hole. Put the spark plug back in. and then try it. You can try spraying starter fluid in the carburetor too.
