This function is defined for every x such that x^2 - 49 <>0, that is, x <> 7 and x<> -7. So, supposing f has it's domain in the reals, the domain is R - {7, -7} (all real numbers except 7 and -7.

The domain is all x such that x is not equal to 7 or -7.

Or D = {x | x != 7, -7}

All Real numbers other than 7, since 7 would give you a denominator of zero.

What is the range?

Ooops, yeah, x can't be -7 either... the other answer is right.
