You have it backwards.. OIL creates Zits.
Zits are a kind way of saying Puss and dead cell material.
Zits happen when your body oils (generated naturally by the human body) manage to mix up with dirt, debris and dead cells and plug up a hair folicle or skin poor (with or without a hair.. there is a folicle, sweat gland, or pore opening there).
Once plugged.. the stuff begins to 'grow' It becomes a small infection (the red area around that yellow monster on you end of your oily nose).
After that we all know what happens.
You can reduce the zits by keeping the oil level down and keeping the skin clean..
ok?

The zit or pimple is actually the after math of excess oil secreted by your skin. When dirt clogs your pores, you skin reacts by producing more oil than normal, which in combination with the dirt a pimple is created.

No zits do not create oil. You skin naturally creates oil to protect itself. When the pore in which the oil is create get's blocked and bacteria multiple in it, you get a zit.
See wikipedia's entry for pimples (zits) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pimples

I am no expert (dermatologist), but pimples are caused by clogged (and occasionally infected) pores... they can be clogged by dirt, oil, etc.
Your body creates the oils for your skin (I would assume) for moisture retention & protection.
