I'm traveling to Denver with my husband at the end of the month, and I was looking for some great restruants and other romantic things to do that don't cost a lot of money. We will be there with another couple and staying in their extra bedroom, but we have a couple days to spend on the town by ourselves and we will be spending mostly evenings with the other couple. I want to make the most of this trip with out putting a huge dent in our wallets. Any suggestions???

JoJo,

My favorite place to eat is the Cherry Creek Grill in Cherry Creek North. For the neighborhood, it really isn't too expensive. Most plates are $10-$20. Cherry Creek is also a nice neighborhood to walk around and even grab an ice cream cone if you didn't want to spend any more money.

Downtown, Vesta Dipping Grill is another great place to eat. A little more expensive, but not at all like the steak houses.

You could drive up Lariat Loop Rd in Golden to the top of Lookout mountain to view the City. Downtown Golden is still a little bit of a taste of the old west.

Take a tour of the Coors Brewery if you like that sort of thing. The tours are free and you get free samples.

The new Denver Art Museum is worth seeing if you like that sort of thing.

You could ride bikes along the miles and miles of bike trails around the city or just take a walk around Washington Park.

Stevie Nicks is in concert at Red Rocks May 28th. That would be awesome if you could get tickets. If not, you could just go up and check the amphitheater out. There will be several High School graduations there the Memorial Day weekend, but it is a great venue to see.

See what anyone else suggests too.

There is the Museum of Natural History, The Spaghetti Warehouse, The Cheesecake Factory, and an aquarium (I forget the name). There's also a baseball museum at Coors Field (I think). There is a ton of things that are of little or no cost. Just go to www.denver.org. There is some awesome stuff there!

If you want to walk around, I would suggest the 16th Street Mall. There are many stores to visit, and cafes to enjoy. The Cheesecake Factory and ESPN Zone are located along there as well. Both are good, but I'm not sure about the prices.

I'd like to suggest the Buckhorn Exchange on 10th and Osage. It's Denver's oldest restaurant and utterly fascinating. The food is superior, also.
