I want to buy world of warcraft (I have never played before)
I just want to know what I need to pay for before I buy it.
do you need to give credit card details? because my parents wont do that... I thought I could just buy one of those 60 day gaming cards and play that way instead of using credit cards.

It looks like you would have to keep up a pre-paid game card kind of like a pre-paid phone card. This is directly from the Blizzard website.......

We accept the following major Credit Cards in addition to the Subscription Option of your choosing:

* Visa
* MasterCard
* Discover
* American Express

Alternate Payment Methods:

* Prepaid Game Card

We realize that some customers would like to play World of Warcraft but do not have access to the payment methods detailed above. While we have no timeframe on when additional options will become available, we are currently looking to expand our list of options to provide better support for our customers.

First, you have to buy the game (and the expansion pack if you want to play the 60+ level stuff)
As for paying for playing, you can go and buy cards. You simply buy the cards that give you months of credit to playing WoW. Many of these "credit" cards (not real credit cards but are credited with hours of playing ability) are sold at video game stores and places like Best Buy. Simply tell them you need to purchase a pre-paid card that gives you the ability to play WoW.

I'm sure you know this but also make sure you have a high speed Internet connection. Some games you can play these games offline, however WoW is not one of these games. You have to have a cable modem or DSL b/c a normal phone modem will be too slow to play World of Warcraft.

Yes, you will need a credit card to pay for WoW or get a 14-day trial or one of those 60 day pre-paid game cards

Yes, you can just set up an account and use those 60-day cards. After the 60 days are up, buy another one! And keep that up. (You need to buy the disc as well).

You could get the 1 week trial from http://teaser.wow-europe.com to test WoW first. If you enjoy it you have to buy the WoW game (around £10) and then a monthly subscription (around £7) or a 60 day card (around £14).

If you really, really want to be a Blood Elf / Draenei then i'd recommend buying WoW: The Burning Crusade and if not, just wait till level 60 and then buy it to access outlands. :)

If you haven't played it before, I recommend doing the 10 day free trial to see if you like it before spending the money on a game you won't play.

You can do so on their website: http://www.worldofwarcraft.com

Also, if you do decide to get the game and set up your account, you CAN use the game card instead of credit card information.

That's what the game cards are for, being able to pay the subscription fee without giving out credit card info.

WoW itself is pretty cheap theese days. ~20.99 I think
The expansion pack Burining Crusade is ~49.99 and requires that you have WoW itself too.

The game cards depend on how many months are on it.

if you buy the game at like best buy, you need to be ready to enter a lot of info. first you need to buy the game. then you need to subscribe with putting your card number in and phone number and other things. then you need to download updates. have a fast computer or the game is no fun. also be ready to pay about 13 bucks a month
