and am i asking fo rtrouble just having a pair of piranhas on ebeing about 3x the size o fthe other

That is asking for serious trouble. If the larger sees the smaller as being weak then he will attack it. Piranha really need to be kept in a group of 5+ fish of about the same size.

You should not mix fish that are different sizes, regardless of species. The larger fish will prey on the smaller, natural order of things.

umm rearrange the surroundings
take out the old fish
put the new fish in
put the old fish in 10-15 minutes later
do this at night.....

what kind of pirhannas are they? did you get permits for them?? ( thats all the trouble ill give you)
