Square the term, and use the cross multipliers.
(2^(1/2)+7)(2^(1/2)+7) = 2^(1/2 + 1/2) +14*2^(1/2)+49

or 2^1 + 14*2^(1/2) + 49 = 14*2^(1/2)+51

(√2 + 7).(√2 + 7)
= 2 + 14√2 + 49
= 51 + 14√2

Use the binomial theorem: (a+b)^2 = a^2 + 2ab + b^2 =
2 + 14 sqrt(2) + 49 = 51+14sqrt(2).
