Does the calm before the storm have a specific name?

I don't mean the eye, I mean the eerie period before any activity occurs.

And please don't say it's called the cliche. I know that the aforementioned phrase is a cliche, that's why I'm trying to rework it.

Your help is very much appreciated. Thank you.

The closest that I can think of would be 'portent', though it is a general description.
