If you pump and mix formula w/ breast milk for awhile this may work. At least he may take the bottle or cup for you this way. Once he's used the bottle or cup, gradually reduce the amount of breast milk to formula until it's all formula. Pediasure is soy based, so you may not want to use it. It can cause constipation.

I'd skip the bottle at his age, he really doesn't need it. If there is a good reason for you to wean before 1 year then I'd start with putting expressed breast milk in his cup mixed with 1 ounce of formula to begin with. Gradually mix a little more formula with a little less breast milk. If you don't have to wean before 1 year, then I suggest waiting until he turns 1 and wean from breast milk to whole cow's milk and skip the formula all together. If you wean from exclusive breast milk to formula now, when he turns 1 you'll have to go through the same gradual process of mixing formula with whole milk. My youngest daughter's doctor suggests staying clear of Pediasure. She says it's easy for kids to become "hooked" on it and won't eat well because they are always filled up on it. Parents think they are giving their kids something good, but it really is a detriment to developing good eating habits. Try a couple different types of sippy cups or even a small cup without a lid for a first introduction of drinking out of something besides mom. You could also try having him drink a little water in a cup at first to get used to the cup. Babies do have a good sense of taste so you may need to try a couple different types of formula until you find one he likes. From the Pediasure website http://www.pediasure.com/faqs.aspx, it says "PediaSure and NutriPals products are not intended for infants under 1 year of age. According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, infants under a year old should be breastfed or fed an iron-fortified infant formula."

It is safe my baby use to have trouble with constipaton but wouldn't drink the juice. So I would mix it with the formula and they would drink it right down. I wouldn't think it would taste very good but if they are fine with it then why not. Just put a little like 1/2 once to 4 and lower it so that she will start taking just the formula again.

i dont think its a good idea i wqouldnt do it
i would use a cup with baby cereal(gerber makes a banana one that my baby loves) mixed with formula and see how he likes that. also try giving him juice mixed with water so he'll start liking the bottle or cup and then once he's used to the bottle or cup add milk
also another thing is use a breast pump and put your milk in the bottle maybe its just that he wants your breast

Why not just keep nursing him? Hes a smart baby, hes refusing the formula because he knows that hes getting the good stuff already!
You've got 4 more months and you never have to worry about formula (and formula recalls, and bottles and water and running out of formula and stinky poops)
Why give your babe a substandard product if you don't have to?

you could put a little bit in it, it wont hurt just make sure you don't do it all the time or give him the hole can/bottle, because one of my friends did that and her baby end up been a cute overweight baby!! then she just stop and her baby it's now on the normal size :) or what you can do it's mix the milk/formula with the cereal and give it to your baby like that, or just put it in a cup and give the m/f with a spoon, i hope it helps :) good luck

Put breast milk in the bottle. Then slowly change over to other things. Giving the bottle and the weird-tasting stuff at the same time is overwhelming, get them used to one thing first, then the other.

It's probably not the taste - it's probably the source. Your baby likes the breast. It may be as simple as changing the nipple or using a straw cup. Also - talk to your doctor - he may be ready for a bit of juice or something other than formula/breast milk.

why don't your pump into a bottle so he can get used to that first? Once he is okay with a bottle then try switching to formula.

Not with pediasure....an 8 month old is too small for that... try it will a dash of apple juice.... Pediasure is full of vitamins... and is processed in a place where they also have peanuts.. Good luck though.
