a solid black insect around my door with a blue dot on their back and 8 legs are they fleas or ticks?

it is a TICK, a flea is an insect and has 6 legs, ticks are arachnids and have 8 legs. and ticks DONT jump, fleas jump! ticks have small legs and walk from animal to animal

That is definitely not a flea. Fleas are tiny and black while ticks are a bit bigger and look a bit more like spiders. Also, ticks get around by jumping. They jump very high so they can get onto people, dogs, cats, etc. That also makes it harder to spot them and kill them.
