I just saw a brief news clip where the price of songs on iTunes will increase from 99 cents per song to $1.29. What are your feelings on this issue?

I have nothing to worry about it since I don't buy songs from iTunes. :)

There's a caveat.

They are raising the price for higher quality music without DRM (digital rights management). I believe you will still have the option to purchase the 99 cent songs (at least for a while).

(This push for DRM-free music actually came from Steve Jobs at Apple, not the music industry.)

So the question is, is it worth it to you?

Some thoughts to consider:

*For most people the compression on the current iTunes music is "good enough". For some, it isn't.

*Currently it's possible to burn a CD of your iTunes music and rip it back and walla! - No DRM.

*CDs are still an option.
