They don't have to justify it.

Because it didn't happen.

The House and Senate just got their automatic cost of living increase of 3%.

And by the way, guess what party, changed house and senate rules, so the cost of living pay increase was automatic, and didn't have to be voted on each year.

You guessed it.

The Democrats in 1989.

EDIT:

It's amazing, with all the information available online today, that people still believe the myth that members of Congress will receive their salary for life after they leave Congress.

Or the people who believe that members of Congress do not pay SS tax's.

Congressmen are on the exact same Retirement plan as all other Federal Employees.

They have the exact same health care plan as all other Federal Employees.

People should really try and do some research once in awhile.

The Senate and House aren't reducing their work week, they are increasing it.

They were down to about 2 1/2 days - they didn't do any business until Tuesday, and didn't do anything Thursday afternoon so people could take off early and go beg for money on the weekend.

Not that they deserve a pay raise, but the Democrats INCREASED the time spent working during a given week.

PA managed to vote out almost all incumbant house and senate members who voted for a sneaky 2am raise. They placed an inflatable pig on the capitol steps and rallied right and left. It worked. Start writing letters and remind them we won't vote for them. Whatever happened to PUBLIC SERVANT? If a state like Pennsylvania can do it, any state can and do it nationally!!!!!!!!!

The same way they justify getting paid their congressional salary (~$168,000) for LIFE, even after they are no longer in Congress.

They are all evil, greedy, selfish, scumbags, and we should hang them all (both parties). None of them care 2 cents about your problems or fixing them.

Can you not work more in four days? Will it let you have more time to review upcoming bills to vote on?
