Could they really be that hard up for entertainment?

I've been the subject of rumors which cause a lot of pain and suffering. People do it because they are angry, jealous, envious or just plain evil. Several members of my own family have done that to me, to the point of getting calls at work, getting to my co-workers, and causing me to lose my job. I always say, Forgive, Forget, Stay Out of Harm's Way! God Bless!

Because they are tiny, viscious people with tiny, viscious minds, and they can only divert themselves from their miserable lives by passing it on. Ugh. No one (that I'm aware of) ever started a GOOD rumor. Should be just as easy, right? Remember the "commit acts of ramdom beauty" bumper sticker?

Because people are cold and cruel, and when someone is on top of the game, people like to see them fall, and by starting a rumor they fall faster people think.

It's the 'Chicken Little' mentality..they knee jerk react to something without stopping to see what is really happening cause they are in such a rush to be the first in their neighborhood to report it. LOL.. well it's one theory anyway.

Because they want attention... they see how much attention everyone else is getting for, "Ooo... I saw so and so doing whatever..." or "ooo... so and so and so and so are going out again!" They see it as a way to get attention, which everyone wants.
