Is it fascinating or gross? I cannot even imagine doing it.

yes i have,I'm a vet tech i have milked many kinds of animals,kinda cool but gross too!

Yes and it's hard ..especially if the cow is loose in a field and you don't finish milking her before she finishes her grain. Neither gross nor fascinating..just work that needs to be done if the cow doesnt have a calf nursing on her and or for some reason she can't be in the herd being milked at the barn.

I can't imagine anyone could stay miserable around them big, friendly animals...best therapy ever.

Yes, many of them and it's boring and it's work just like all the other chores we had on the farm.
