There are two ways to get the same answer

Multiply 39.95 x 0.25 = 9.9875

add 39.95 + 9.9875 = 49.9375

Multiply 39.95 times 1.25

39.93 x 1.25 = 49.9375

Multiply 39.95 times 0.25 to get the amount

39.95 x 0.25 = 9.9875

Subtract 9.9875 from 39.95

39.95 - 9.9875 = 29.9625

If the original price is y,

y + (75 x y)/100 = 39.95

You need to find 25% of 39.95.
Times 39.95 by 25 and divide it by 100, then add that number to 39.95 or take it away.
