If you truly don't know...please find some crayons or some cheep watercolors, or colored pencils..and make yourself a color wheel. You are in for the opening of a new world. Draw a
circle and put a spot of of each of the primaries at 12 o'clock, (red) 4o'clock yellow, 8 o'clock blue
In pigment based products
PRIMARY COLOR, RED, YELLOW, BLUE,
These are primary, they cannot be mixed.
SECONDARY COLORS, ORANGE, GREEN, PURPLE
On your circle, if you mix red and yellow you'll get orange, Put a spot at approx 2 o'clock
On your circle, if you mix yellow and blue you get green, put a spot at 6 o'clock.
On your circle, if you mix blue and red you get purple, put a spot at 10 o'clock
THIRD degree colors, Mix red/org; org/yel; yel/green, gren/blue; blue/purple, purp/red.
And these colors will vary depending on the type of colors you use and the brand.
Colors opposite each other on the your color wheel are call complimentary. and when mixed will generally make "mud"
