One is fine, or actually any number of males together is fine. The only problem you can run into with keeping guppies to to be sure that in a mixed group the females way out number the males. 3-4 females per male is a good idea. Otherwise the females can literally be pestered to death.

Guppies will get stressed out if they're alone. I wouldn't have less than 5 guppies, that's when they're the happiest! Plus, they're pretty to watch. Do you plan on breeding them? Try keeping it to a male/female only if you dont want fry.

my best advice is a group of 5-6. but never single or 1 male and 1 female. the male runs her 2 death. try 2 females and 1 male. if you dont want fry then leave the pregnant females in the tank. after birth no matter how many you have take her out for 12-24 hours or she WILL die from stress! good luck ;P

You can keep just one or 2 guppies. I started out with one female and two males..........it didn't take long for them to reproduce though. If you don't want babies I would get the same sex guppies.

they are absolutely not schooling fish. you can keep one or as many as you want. just make the ratio of male to females at least 1 to 2.
