My uncle owns a barber shop and one of the employee decided to quit. Does he need to pay for the person's unemployment if they quit? A friend of mine told me that his company did not pay him unemployment because he quit. If he was fired, it would be another thing.

If he quit of his own free will, then, he is not eligible for employment.

if your uncle gets a questionnaire from the BES (Bureau of employment security) or whatever it is in your state and they ask "reason for leaving" your uncle can say, "he quit" I did not ask him leave," that's the end of it.
Whehter or not your uncle would take him back or not matter, unless he actually does,

Under SOME circumstances you can quit a job and collect, but these cases are rare and unusual.
Example; your employer firing you for refusing to operate a piece of machinery that you do not know how to operate and it would be dangerous for you to try.

Your friend is right. If an employee quits the job and tried to file for unemployment, the unemployment office will ask that person why he is no longer working at that job. After that is finished, then he will call your uncle to see if your uncle says exactly the same thing as that former employee. So, tell your uncle not to worry. Nobody collects when they quit a job.
