A teen girl has a friend that she has known pretty much for 10 years. This friend, a guy, has been in the same classes as she for most of elementary school years and also has been in many same junior high (middle school) classes. They have been friends all along for a long time. However, recently, this guy has become more rude, and stand-offish, and even accused the teen girl of being a "goodie-goodie." The teen girl likes this guy as a long time friend, but is becoming more and more saddened by his apparent rudeness. It is always been a strickly platonic friendship and definitely not a romantic one. He has begun calling her disparaging names. Like, "ugly" or "you're too tall for a girl." So, my question, after that long background summary, is what would you suggest would be the best thing for this teen to do? Should she try and continue to talk to and "put up" with her friend? Or should she move on and drop the friendship? This girl is very sensitive about it.
