I have had something similar happen before when i tried going to site like amazon, etc
You likely have spyware or somethin like that. How i fixed it was i got Spybot Search and Destroy from download.com
I had to actually use a friends computer because every site i tried to go to download spyware removal stuff went to a hacker site.
run Spybot a number of times to make certain you get the spyware.
I had Adaware SE and it did not permenently delete the spyware, just a heads up.

You got some virus or spyware.I have used AVG Anti Virus, Zone Alarm Firewall, Spy-bot Search and Destroy and Ad Aware both spyware killers for years. They are all free for personal use and I have had no trouble with Viruses Trojans etc. AVG does not slow the system down as much as some other products and Zone Alarm allows a lot of personal configuration unlike the Windows Firewall. They can all be downloaded from the following link. http://www.computeractive.co.uk/ On the home page select downloads and then the appropriate category.I also use Windows Defender from the Microsoft site. It is safe to use two anti-spy products but never use more than one A/V as it can cause conflicts. You should run A/V and anti spy weekly. Hope this helps.

You have a browser hijack! It has nothing to do with visiting naughty websites. Its spyware (also known as a trojan.)
You may need to switch off System Restore as back up files may be hiding in there, and it will just restore itself. Go to Start - programs - accessories - system tools - system restore. Click the link on the left, follow the instructions.
Run AVG anti spyware in Safe Mode. To get into Safe Mode repeatedly press the F8 key after the bios screen loads but before Windows loads. You'll know if you made it because the screen will be at 800 x 600 and your pc will be slow.
You need all these anti spyware programs;
http://free.grisoft.com/doc/20/lng/us/tpl/v5 - AVG anti spyware
http://www.safer-networking.org - Spybot Search and Destroy anti spyware. Use the Teatimer settings to protect Internet Explorer, and the Immuniser to stop malware getting on your pc.
Spywareblaster works with Internet Explorer and Firefox. It won't uninstall spyware that is already on your pc, but it will prevent hijacks and other malicious changes to your browser.
http://www.javacoolsoftware.com
Plus;
http://www.lavasoft.com - Ad-Aware SE Personal anti adware
http://www.siteadvisor.com -MacAffee Site Advisor warns about malware on sites you are about to visit.

Perform a System Restore to a date before all this happened. Then get a couple of spyware blockers (Spybot Search And Destroy and Lavasoft Adaware SE) and a good antivirus (Grisoft AVG). These are all free. Run them in safe mode, set up your Windows firewall - assuming you have Win XP SP2.

We can't have your nerves going mad can we.
If your browser has been hijacked then you need to get hold of HijackThis and run a scan. Look in the BHO (Browser Help Object) section and look for any suspicious entries and put a check mark netx to it. Then press the Fix Selected Problems button and hopefully it will go away forever.

Oh, dear dear dear. Looks like you're a victim of a form of pop-up. I've had the same experience.
So: Have you downloaded something recently? Like, a tool-bar or something? If you have (check anyway, if you're not sure), uninstall it, or uninstall anything suspicious/not needed (Control panel -> Add or remove programs).
This SHOULD solve the problem. I doubt it's a virus, as many people claim, for viruses usually have a more damaging effect, but still, that is a possibility.

You've been visiting the wrong sites, now haven't you!!!??? Sounds like you've got some serious spyware or a virus that has highjacked your browser. Run your antivirus program and run some anti-spyware like Ad-Adware Personal SE.
