I'm a European and I don't hate Turks and I don't know anyone that does! Also- I have been to Turkey and loved the people and country.
I suppose one of the political no-no's for other Europeans is their human rights record. I understand it's not good, and improving it is one of the criteria for them to meet in the application to become an EEC member.

Turks started it and need to convert to Christianity to be accepted.

because the turks are really close to the middle east, and most of the country is poor in comparison, so it would bring down the averages and cause issues

Turks to Europe are like illegal Mexicans to the US. They are a drain on the social services of the nation.

Because they have fought them a number of times, They are not Europeans They live in the middle east. They are a mix of religions. They have many reasons why they dislike them.

turkey is located at the place where the caucasian/christian europe meets muslem/arab middle east. the turks want to be part of europe, but they are not accepted. the arabs hate them too. they are betwixt and between both.

the majority of EU's population is against them joining the EU, but that's a different matter.
