Stainless steel pans are no longer the best way to cook with now. there are far better utensils to do that job that are non-stick and need little cleaning afterward. many pans tend to burn things like rice etc if left on the burner to long, but you can get pans with encapsulated bases the spread the heat evenly across the bottom of the pan and this stops heat spots building up and cooks the food evenly, they may be a little bit more expensive but well worth the extra.
