very much worth the price for the enjoyment and storage that it gives. I have the nano, 2nd generation....love it, love it, love it. Was my Valentine's Day present from my hubby. I have recorded audiobooks on it besides my music and fave pics...never go anywhere without it....

Yes, especially when you consider what used to be included in the box along with the iPod, for instance, a couple years ago, iPod's used to come with a dock, a charger, a belt clip, a case, a remote control, headphones, and USB cable. Now, all you get is the headphones and USB cable. So we, the customers are now getting less for our money because each one of those items when purchased separately is in the $20 to $30 price range. Oh, and I just saw on the news that Apple is raising the price of songs on iTunes from 99 cents to $1.29 each. So, to answer the question, YES they are expensive.

I think $150 for a 2GB isn't a bad price, that's what I paid, anything more than that though yes is expensive. It's crazy what they want for some of the super fancy Ipods.

This is actually a very sensitive subject between my boyfriend and I. Personally, I don't think they're that badly priced and would really like to buy one. However, he thinks they are way too expensive and I shouldn't get one since it's something "the two of us wouldn't use"..... even though he can go out and get a new set of golf clubs when I HATE golf, and a new tv when our old one was just fine, and this, that, and the other.

Outrageously expensive. I found a much better deal on a device that can play many more different audio formats and also has a flexible built-in equalizer than a crappy iPod.

no not for everything they do, and the money that they save you in the long run, with Cd's being like $15-$17 bucks a piece now

Ipods and all other mp3 players are all overpriced and the accessories for those players are really ridiculously overpriced.
