Hi - just bought a 53 plate 3.0l Z4 and loving it except the lights were very poor so i ordered some new xenon bulbs from the internet.

The problem i have is that it is a nightmare to change the damb things with (i think) access through the wheel arches to the bulbs. Managed to change the foglight ok but the rest i have no idea.

Can anyone help me with a guide or link to enable myslef to get access to the main lights, high beams and sidelights?????

Thanks!!!

If you bought one of those "wannabe" blue-tinted bulbs that promises whiter and brighter light, I'm sorry to let you know you will be disappointed. Not only will you not get the desired brightness, you will also get short bulb life.

Don't spend hours breaking your wrist to find that out in the end (and spend more hours replacing the burnt ones).

You'd be better off spending about $200-$300 on a REAL HID conversion kit (complete with balasts, wiring...etc). Google it... you'll find a bunch.

If you want the job done right, you will also need a factory HID headlamp unit; so you get the correct beam pattern and won't blind on-coming traffic.

You can get them from parts recyclers (aka junkyards) cheap such as this: http://data.bmrparts.com/ads.asp?ad=AD1325&type=10

Pick up this manual, it helped me tremendously and saved me thousands on my BMW.

don't you have a manual? It should tell you. Also, the dealer might tell you over the phone. The Riverside Calif BMW dealer helped me once and they were really great about it.
