A second interview is a more in depth Q&A session with a person who has more clout than the first interviewer. Dress to impress, study the company and ace the thing!
This usually means they are rather interested in you. Think of it as when you invite someone for a second date. If you didn't enjoy that person the first time, would you bother to call them back for the second interview? Nah, neither would your new company.
They like you, they really like you.
Hey, I noticed that you're a top contributor here, that means you care enough to give your very best here on YA, do the same thing at that second interview and everything should be fiiiiiiiiiine.
GL!

There could be several reasons for this interview, and the reason dictates the questions. First, the person they really wanted in the first place might have turned it down, or might have given poor references, etc. Second, the company might have the position narrowed down to 2-3 people, and they want a few other interviewers to get involved. Third, they might have tentatively decided upon you, and the next level manager wants to do a final interview.
In other words, go with the flow. You can't really anticipate what the reason is.

Probably more indepth questions with someone higher up in the company. Maybe with a few different people. Be prepared with questions to ask them too so that when they ask "do you have any questions", you have something prepared that sounds like you care about the company and the position.

It might be different people this time asking you questions, or they just want to ask you more questions to make sure that your a right fit for the job. But take this as a good sign, it means they were impressed at the first interview and want to get to know you better.

Remembers this... if you are going back for a 2nd interview, they must like you. So exude that confidence. They will ask you more situational questions, they already know your past, they want to know more about you. As with every interview, make sure you know what the next step is. (ie ask "When should I hear something") Send out thank you e-mails to everyone that was there ASAP.

They will probably ask you for more direct questions in regards to the work you do or to be hired for... more indepth style questions that will make you think and then answer... Be truthful and honest.
Good Luck
