No question...Michael Jordan. And you know why?Because a whole team depended on him.He wins 3 titles with Chicago then he stops playing for 2 years and Chicago get nothing those 2 years. He comes back and Chicago do another 3-peat.Kobe why?He has not taken a championship ring since Shaq left LA.I don't see how Chamberlain could be the best.He played at a time when basketball was not developped enough and he was one of the 2 or 3 7-footers in the league while the others couldn't even put the ball to the basket!

Michael Jordan....not even close. The thing that made him not only the best basketball player of all time but also the most dominant athlete of all time (for the 4 major sports) was that in every single game he played.....he was the best player on the floor (excluding the washington fiasco).

Wow,..... did you ask how many people are on MJ's D...head, or what?!!

Me personally, I was a Larry Bird, the Legend himself! He was clutch, and one of the greatest competitors ever. Every one talks about the 60 JORDY put up on Boston in that playoffgame, but who's team won! Which players retirement allowed the other to finally get his due credit. Exactly!

Although Jordan was a well-rounded player, his "Air Jordan" image is also often credited with inadvertently decreasing the jump shooting skills, defense, and fundamentals of young players. A fact which Jordan himself has lamented in the past, "I think it was the exposure of Michael Jordan; the marketing of Michael Jordan. Everything was marketed towards the things that people wanted to see, which was scoring and dunking.

Thats why Larry is my favorite. he was the player with the most that appeared to have the least.

Magic Johnson. Played all 3 positions in a Championship run, Center, Forward, and Guard. Outstanding player and leader on and off the court. I give Magic the nod for best player of all time.

Michael Jordan and Charles Barkley. Charles never won a ring, but he could take any Power Forward to school for his size.

probably wilt chamberlain... but I know most people pooh pooh him and say Jordan these days. If all the GMs of the league picked in a round robin the greatest players in history to be on their team, 90% would pick Chamberlain #1, Everybody else would pick Jordan.
