I have a Toshiba Satellite and it's 4 years old. It has a 30 GB hard drive and a 256 MB RAM. The hard drive, I know, is not full, but it still runs very slow sometimes.

I dont know what model you have but if you're running windows xp you really need a minimum of 512 MB to run it I recommend if you can you can do it upgrade the memory to at least 1.024 GB your Hard drive is big enough if you have the programs that you want to run
