What's next? I think something along the lines of "Immorality" or "unAmericanism"

scarlett ohara, speak for yourself, not for them. there are plenty of family members of victims of 9/11 who are against what the Bush administration is doing now. Just go to your local bookstore, they're not even keeping quiet about it.

Liberalism (synonymous with unAmericanism) , a war which will be fought at the ballot box in 2008, and won yet again by the Republican candidate.

I'd like to see us declare war on illiteracy, corruption, and minutae. The government won't be able to solve any of our problems until they're sorted out a few of their own. Sort of a "Pull the plank out of your own eye..." In the spirit of that, I'd like to see us declare war on:

1) Illiteracy: Never again should we have a president incapable of pronouncing the word Nuclear. You can't push the button until you can say it. Nor can you invade a country until you can pronounce it's name, it's capital, and it's leader's name from memory. If you can't do that, then you aren't well informed enough to be putting lives at risk.

2) Corruption: Corporations are contributing to the campaigns of politicians on both sides of the aisle- that isn't civic participation in legalized bribery. Our founders established a policy in which the government kept out of the affairs of business as much as possible; it's long past time that business returned the favor. We should make it illegal for any candidate, politician, or lobby group to receive any type of contribution from a corporate entity. Money will always carry with it a great deal of power, but it would be lovely to tip the scale back towards a balance where the voices of the people sound just as loud as the voice of the NASDAQ.

3) Minutae: We often get politically bogged down in "issues" that do nothing but distract from governing. How does the debate over "Gay Marriage" accomplish anything the government should be doing? Abortion? How about Mary Schiavo? It's just sleight of hand to distract us from the complete lack of anything getting done. Our Journalists should be putting much greater pressure on our politicians over their motivations for bringing subjects to the fore front.

I don't think that the victims of 9/11 consider the death of their friends and relatives to be an abstract concept.

War on Global Warming.
We'll all drive Cadillacs and Hummers and bigass trucks with "I eat my cereal with crude" bumper stickers.

In reality since we don't intend on winning we should be honest and just declare a police action. Then it can go on forever being a stalemate. The press & the Left don't want a win!

We'd better watch our backs, it certainly looks like liberalism is on the agenda!
