Super Smash Bros. Melee
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker
Resident Evil 4
Mario Kart: Double Dash
Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door
Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance (most underrated game ever)
Metroid Prime
These alone are superb Gamecube games. Those who hate on the 'Cube are just jealous their systems didn't get these games (except for Resident Evil 4, that's also on PS2 and PC, but the other 7 are GCN exclusive).
HOWEVER, the Wii can also play Gamecube games. So if your intent on this question was whether or not to get a Gamecube, then don't and try to get a Wii instead as the Wii can do everything the Gamecube can do (except use the GBA Player, but that's another story). But, as the games above are just a select few of quality games the system has to offer, to answer the question "Is the Gamecube good?" The answer is obviously yes.

The gamecube is good. There are allot of second-hand gamecube games on the market just-now because of the release of the Nintendo Wii, Xbox 360 and The PS3. They don't jam that often and the graphics never slow down. You can get a second hand console for about £25 now.

The gamecube is brilliant, as long as you have somewhere to buy second hand games as developers are concentrating on the newest generation consoles. The nintendo Wii plays all gamecube games though, so you may be better off with one of them if you haven't got good access to 2nd hand games.

The gamecube is good, but you may want to hold off for a Wii, as there are signs of a price reduction sale at the end of the month

It has more of the "kid" games...but it is the most reliable of the 3 producers...I've had all three for more then 5 years, and PS2 broke in 3 years, and Xbox in 1 and a half.
My Gamecube is still kicking with a lot of juice.

The Gamecube was good. The games weren't. That's what it suffered from. It didn't share its games with the other consoles and rarely did it get the good ones from the decent consoles. The 1st Zelda game was extremely good once you forgot about the cartoon graphics which were good anyway, and Mario Kart was very good. A few other games were good too but mainly it was a bunch of movie tie-ins and rubbish like that. Its worth the money you'd pay for one though. You could get one now with a game for less than a XBox 360 game would cost alone. Don't expect much kudos from your male mates though.

It was a good system which just lacked support from game developers, if you want to buy one now there dead cheap - you can buy them second hand for about £30, with games costing £5-10 each.
The nintendo made games are by far the best, mario sunshine, mario kart, zelda, metroid prime, pikmin etc, as well as games like rogue squadron, resident evil, stick to these and you won't go far wrong.

You'd be better off getting the Wii, Xbox360 or PS3. They have better graphics, better gameplay etc. You'll also get the newer games which you wont get for the gamecube.
The gamecube was decent. I got one but didnt get many games for it. Didnt seem to compare to the others tbh.
